From what you are saying, it could actually be the starter button itself vs the key fob - or many other points between the Power button, the starter and your battery. I had one of those come on not too long ago. Mine was for a hood switch that went bad. The start stop system won't enable without it working correctly. I had my light come on last month. I took both batteries and had them tested at Advanced Auto. The auxiliary tested bad so I paid $100 for a new one.It is highly possible that the fuel system was failed to start, but the Stop/Start lacks of fuel system detection. So the engine could not start. The only method is turn off the vehicle to reset the computer. I will prepare a wrench in the vehicle to disconnect the battery when another strange issue occurs.
